If you have kids then you will know how hard it can be to stay on top of everything. You may get so wrapped up in taking them to soccer practice that you forget about your own appointments, not to mention that the mess they leave behind can be hard to stay on top of as well.
Vacuum Up Regularly
Nobody likes to vacuum up. It’s such an annoying chore, and this is especially the case if you end up doing it 3-4 times a day. If you want to stop this then vacuum up most of the rooms in the morning. When you do this, everything will be straight for the day ahead.
You may also want to have a designated playroom for the kids, where they can eat snacks and play without worry of being too messy. You’ll want to vacuum this room once at night, just as they’re going to bed.
This will help them to distinguish bedtime from playtime as well. Short carpet is ideal for playrooms, and if you want to find out more then check out the flooring at Carpet One.

Everything Has Its Place
Everything should have a place. That place should also make sense to your family. For example, if you like to keep the coffee mugs at the opposite end of the counter to the coffee maker then this wouldn’t make sense to most people.
If it makes sense to your family, and if that’s the way you like to work then there is nothing wrong with that. It also helps to observe the habits of your family as well.
If you see laundry dumped in the same area of the room then put the laundry bin there. This way, you can make the room tidier without having to force the whole family to change their own habits.

Rotate Toys
Kids love to play with toys. They also feel the need to have as many toys out as possible. One way for you to get around this would be for you to have a toy system.
Let your child have 2-4 toys out at once. When they want to get out a new toy, they have to put one back. This may take a bit of work in the beginning, but when you have established a system and when your kids are used to it, they will eventually do it by themselves. This is fantastic because it is easy to put away 4 toys if you are in a rush, but it is not easy to put away 10 or 12.
Child-Accessible
If your children can’t reach the rack for their coats then you can’t expect them to hang them up. If the dishes are hard for them to put away because you keep them in the top cupboard then, again, it’s going to be hard for them to help you out. If possible, buy stands that are child-height.
This way, they can feel as though they are actually helping and you can feel assured knowing that they are getting into a good routine regarding your cleaning schedule.
